Our Vision

For the transformation of children & families living in the Washington Heights Favela. Working alongside existing local partnerships, helping to create new partnerships, to facilitate the eventual sustainability of the local people in the area. To serve the local churches in seeing how to help them to engage with the Favela and to be a catalyst for change.

Our Overall Aims & Objectives
To facilitate without creating dependency, to help whilst always looking for sustainability.

Our Aims
1. To provide Fundraising assistance to Elias and his church in the Favela to continue with the projects already started. These existing projects include, a football and bible project for the children, reforming houses, painting exterior walls and boundaries, providing numerous other services to the community as needs arise such as help towards medical costs and school costs.
2. To help develop these existing projects as everything is in its infancy. An example would be in the provision of food during the children’s project.
3. To help develop new projects that serve the vision and the community, such as looking at the feasibility of a Kidz Klub project.
4. To take teams out on a regular basis, whose skills match what is required, examples are;

• Physical help with building work and reformation of the houses
• Working with the children alongside and under the leadership of Davision who is already employed part time in this position
• Take experienced Children workers to plant a Kidz Klub, and train up local kidz klub workers
• Help develop craft projects for both the children and women in the Favela that can also be used as a source of income for the women
• Teaching basic English language to both children & adults. English is taught in the schools and in my ex
  perience is a skill most people desire to have

Our Objectives

1. To work with the local partnerships already in existence and encourage new partnerships including businesses with the aim of making them fully sustainably and viable over a period of time.
2. To give hope & dreams to the next generation, that they can make a difference to themselves and others around them.
3. To encourage the local church to care for the “widows & orphans” in their area and to understand mission as being on their doorstep as well as abroad.
4. To give opportunity for people to be on a team helping others less fortunate then themselves and to find purpose in their lives & faith.
5. To encourage the local workers by bringing short term teams to bring fresh vision and hope.
